Creo WinIPDS Lite is a full featured entry level IPDS print server that enables any Windows driver attached printer, MFP or other printing devices to print IPDS from AFP enabled host systems such as iSeries, zSeries, InfoPrint Manager, Prisma etc.

Creo WinIPDS Lite is a software-only AFP/IPDS LAN Print Server, which can be installed in a matter of minutes on a Microsoft Windows PC, where it runs as a Windows Service.

Like hardware solutions such as embedded cards and conversion boxes, this product leverages your investment in IBM’s AFP/IPDS application technology by offering a much wider range of printing choices. This Windows-based software solution exploits native windows print drivers, which simplifies printer configuration and in many cases expands the choice of printers even further.

Unlike most other generic IPDS printing solution, this product is not bound to standard PDLs such as Postscript or PCL. By exploiting the MS Windows drivers, IPDS can be printed to printers using properatary PDLs, such as thermotransfer printers, and even to printers that are fully integrated with Windows.

WinIPDS Lite support multiple Windows platforms such as Windows XP, Windows Server, Windows Vista or Windows7. Also it will run in virtualisation environments such as VMWare. The multithreading architecture of WinIPDS Lite will also exploit multiple CPU cores when processing multiple concurrent IPDS sessions.
