Q:Full page IPDS printing on Kyocera printers

Question:
How can I get a Kyocera printer to do full page printing when using an Intermate print server (such as Intermate100, Intermate101, LAN FS3, A/T FS+, LAN FS+, LAN FS PRO, or the new IAPS - Intermate Advanced Print Server / IPDS)?

 

Answer:

1. Adjust print server settings related to IPDS Emulation, printable area, margins (top and left), and duplex.

and

2. Adjust FRPO settings on the Kyocera printer for default, full page and L-parameters.

1. Print Server (interface) Settings:

IPDS Options
IPDS Emulation : 4028 or 3912/16
Printable Area : 3812/16

Printer options (or equivalent - for example Borders in IAPS):
Top margin : 48 (IAPS: 4800)
Left margin : 66 (IAPS: 6600)

2. Change the following FRPO settings on the Kyocera printer:


All printers default D1 = 0
All printers fullpage D1 = 1
All printers default R3 = 0
All printers fullpage R3 = 1
L - Parameters on the Kyocera printer as shown below.

EXAMPLES of Prescribe strings

For FS-7000+/9000:

Set full page: "!R!frpoD1,1;frpoR3,1;frpoL2,84;frpoL4,42;frpoL6,95;frpoL8,48;exit;"
Set default: "!R!frpoD1,0;frpoR3,0;frpoL2,95;frpoL4,27;frpoL6,61;frpoL8,11;exit;"
Important: FRPO settings affect all jobs printed to the printer.
However, all of our current products allow you to configure string before and string after a job. The basic recipe is this:
1. Select tray (input cassette)
2. Include "Set fullpage" in string before.
3. Include "Set default" in string after.

When the job selects the tray, the L-parameters in string before will be sent to the printer so that the job will be printed in full page. When the job is finished - or if you select a different tray - the L-parameters in string after will re-instate the default settings.
